Rich as you have never seen him before

Stars in Their Eyes
At the weekend the annual 'Stars In Their Eyes' competition. I have to admit that I was quite taken back by Rich's enthusiasm to join in. in 10 days he transformed into a member of The Village People. Everywhere we went in the car 'In the Navy' was playing, in fact Maddy knows most of the now! Just in case you can't tell Rich is the one on the right of this picture
A little blurred but I am sure you can get the general picture

All very amusing and a little too realistic perhaps boys.

Nice moustache.
Quick change then into the next song.
Very funny, lots of laughs all round for YMCA, all looked a little too much like the real video we saw on YouTube.
Mmm
Don't want to worry anyone but the children saw the rehearsals in the afternoon. Maddy keeps swirling her hips around.

Anyway everyone was extremely amused and Rich is already planning what to do next year! I simply intend to be their for moral support and a good chuckle.

Isy is going away for the weekend

A couple of months ago Isy came running out of school with a note about a school sports weekend in Tabuk, northern Saudi Arabia. She couldn't sign up quick enough to go on the trip even when at one point she was the only girl.

Well tomorrow is the big day and she is all packed and ready to go, I dread to think what time she will wake up tomorrow. Most children go 30 miles down the road but not Isy she is flying several hundred miles north of here to a place I haven't been to. The weekend sounds fantastic loads of sport, BBQ, disco and by the sounds of it very little sleep. Bedtime is scheduled for 10pm both nights, are they mad these children are in tents so they are hardly likely to fall asleep straight away. Not to mention the fact they will probably wake at sunrise.

Tomorrow I will probably wave goodbye to an excited 8 year old girl, how sad we will we all be as she barely looks back. On Friday a dishevelled, tired but happy little girl will return and we will all have missed her terribly.
