Oops, nearly forgot last skiing piccies. We hit town for dinner one night and had yummy Raclette, ate far too much and drank lovely wine too (none of that now!), girls loved the food. Great walk through the snow and some pictures by the lovely Christmas Tree, have to admit when the girls saw our 4 ft artificial one at home they were very disappointed.

Back to Saudi, sundresses and bubbles
A very belated Happy New Year! After a weeks skiing I have to admit returning here wasn't particularly festive. It didn't help that I spent most of Christmas Day and several days after in bed with some bug. From my vague memories I think Rich fed the girls scrambled eggs on toast for Christmas Dinner, probably followed by Christmas chocolates, to be fair they did go swimming in the outdoor pool so it wasn't too bad. Rich was back to work Boxing Day and the girls happily amused themselves blowing bubbles in the garden. The most exciting thing for the girls was the prospect of wearing their new Abayas from Santa into town - before anyone asks they did ask Santa for an Abaya. Maddy also has a Fulla (Saudi Barbie) in an Abaya.
To be honest Christmas passed us by a bit. Not helped by the fact a stack of cards and some presents arrived today 14 Jan! Mmm the post is perhaps a little slow. Skiing and snow next year, hopefully.
Wishing you all the best for 2012,
Vania x

Coffee break in Courchevel
On the last day of skiing we had glorious sunshine, first time all week, and managed
to ski over to Courchevel (lots of reds for us to practice on with no falling down, yippee!)we stopped for coffee in a lovely restaurant with amazing views. I did find myself staring at the snowy mountains and contrasting them with the normal view of sand and camels.

Skiing Meribel Motterat -Dec 2011
We were all gutted that we couldn't ski at Christmas and instead went the week before, back to Christmas next year. Nevertheless not a bad view from the hotel and right on the ski slope, even if it was virtually sheet ice on the first bit of the slope a couple of days. Lovely resort lots of snow and some great skiing. Isy is definitely the quickest in the family and Maddy, when she wants to be, is pretty fast too.
